For the third time, we were guests at the Biostation Haus Bürgel in the Urdenbacher Kämpe near Düsseldorf.
As in previous years, we met a highly engaged audience. In excellent weather, children were able to examine a genuine shark jaw. A comparison with the replica jaw of a false killer whale (*Pseudorca crassidens*) led to the conclusion: 450 million years of evolution have produced a masterpiece that the jaw of a marine mammal, with only 50 million years of evolution, clearly does not come close to matching.
Correct recycling, our plastic collection, and the marine ecosystem with its diverse animal species: we observed great interest from the children, and the parents also had the opportunity to learn something new.
We will return in 2026, as promised.
