On 9 September, in front of a sold-out audience of 350 spectators, Hannes Jaenicke and Friederike Kremer-Obrock shared their experiences of marine conservation. In conversation with the chair of ElasmOcean e.V., set against the magnificent backdrop of the Gasometer Oberhausen, the actor, documentary filmmaker and environmental activist emphasised: We must do more to protect our oceans and the animals inhabiting them. Literally committed to the cause for sharks, polar bears, dolphins, sea turtles, salmon and currently: "Im Einsatz für den Oktopus".
To accompany his latest documentary "Im Einsatz für den Oktopus", ElasmOcean has published an octopus booklet, which attendees were able to collect from our information stands. It can be accessed on our website in the download area, containing comprehensive information about this fascinating species. Many visitors returned home that evening with a booklet signed by Hannes, to the delight of the ElasmOcean team, following loud applause and consistently positive feedback. Our thanks go to the curator of the Gasometer, Jeanette Schmitz, and her team.
The documentary by Hannes Jaenicke is available for streaming on the ZDF-Mediathek and will air on ZDF on 16 September 2025 at 22:15.
