The heart of any non-profit association run by volunteers is its active members - those who fulfil the statutory purpose by bringing it to life. This is no different at ElasmOcean. A diverse group of dedicated marine conservationists who advocate for the association in their spare time, sometimes outdoors, sometimes indoors, sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, sometimes in front of an audience, and sometimes completely alone. But always: for ocean protection through knowledge.

When I began diving several years ago, I was immediately captivated by this unique underwater environment, yet I was entirely unaware of the practice of shark finning for soup. Over the subsequent years, I have observed that such lack of awareness regarding these ecological issues is widespread. Consequently, educational outreach, particularly directed at younger generations, is of significant value; children in particular rapidly assimilate this information, which serves as a key motivator for this work.
