ElasmOcean has joined the Initiative Transparente Zivilgesellschaft (Transparent Civil Society Initiative), an initiative promoting transparency among non-profit organisations. This initiative encourages the disclosure of additional information, which we provide voluntarily, exceeding the statutory publication requirements for non-profit organisations in Germany. The statutory purpose is realized non-violently and sustainably, in particular through the execution of scientific events and research projects, the awarding of research contracts, public relations work, and the education of youth and adults on sensitive interactions with the environment, particularly regarding sharks and the marine ecosystem. The association regards itself as professionally competent, sustainable, innovative, and reliable, securing this through the voluntary work of all members and bodies. The association is non-partisan, non-sectarian, and ethnically and ideologically independent. It strongly opposes racist, unconstitutional, and xenophobic endeavours, as well as other discriminatory or inhumane practices. It respects social, gender, and generational equity.

The Finanzamt in 40721 Hilden has, since our foundation and most recently by notice of 17.10.2024, determined that we promote the charitable purpose of »Förderung des Umweltschutzes einschließlich des Klimaschutzes (§ 52 Abs. 2 Satz 1 Nr. 8 AO)« and are therefore authorised to issue donation receipts (Zuwendungsbestätigungen) for donations allocated to us for these purposes, as well as for membership fees.

ElasmOcean does not employ any staff or freelance contractors, and there are currently no voluntary service participants – all active contributors work on a voluntary basis.

ElasmOcean e.V. is independent under corporate law and is not bound to any third party. There are no parent or subsidiary companies, no supporting associations, no spun-off commercial operations, and no partner organisations. Insofar as ElasmOcean cooperates with other organisations, this does not constitute the establishment of a corporate-law entity or association.
