The recognised non-profit foundation of the Bechtold entrepreneurial family from Kronau in Baden-Württemberg has long understood that profit-oriented business activity as an economic force and respect for sustainability in order to protect nature are not mutually exclusive, but rather mutually dependent: without healthy natural resources, all economic activity soon reaches its limits - and thereafter quickly becomes highly unprofitable. Consequently, a sustainable economy is always the most successful in the long term.
The Bechtold Foundation also applies this long-term perspective to its project funding. Our school programme, with its focus on the youngest members of society as future decision-makers, was therefore immediately well received, and our approach proved convincing.
We are therefore very pleased to receive support from the Theo und Liesel Bechtold-Stiftung in the future. This will enable us to roll out our "Meeresschutz" school box to many more schools. Furthermore, the generous funding will allow us to expand our research work on Fuvahmulah (Maldives).
Because we only have this one planet. We must all look after it.
