Shortly after Christmas, but still in the old year, on 28 December 2019, key marine conservationists met at the Landgasthaus Römer in Leverkusen-Opladen (photo). Following previous successful collaborations under a different banner, they decided to adopt a randomly present constitution and founded the association "ElasmOcean".
Shortly afterwards, Covid-19 temporarily slowed down operations - while simultaneously enabling a period of calm and unpressured consolidation before work could begin in earnest.
We are proud of this young initiative and are confident we are on the right path.
