Our first marine day at the Sharky Schwimmschule in Bonn promised plenty of sea-related fun. The Sharky Schwimmschule's new location was temporarily transformed into a marine education center for the day.
Around 40 children had the opportunity to learn a great deal about the ocean, discover new species, study shark jaws, and understand the impact of human plastic consumption on marine environments.
Finally, the children entered the water with our Haidemarie. Here, they engaged in discovery, games, and activities. While enjoying themselves, the children also recognized the gravity of the anthropogenic threats currently facing the oceans.
Overall, it was a highly valuable day that imparted marine knowledge and raised awareness for ocean conservation – both for the children and for the adults they will inspire with their enthusiasm. It is hoped that these future "junior marine conservationists" will carry this message into their families, thereby contributing to the protection of our global environment.
