We spent the entire first half of the year as guests at the Montessori Schule in Cologne-Riehl. The plan: to train young people to become marine conservationists, equipping them with the necessary tools for a better future.
Anton, David, Felix, Jakob, Jaron, Jemilian, Johan, Juri, Mathis and Tian are highly energetic boys whose hearts are in the right place. Every Monday, they learned, crafted, played, painted, laughed a great deal, sometimes discussed topics seriously, and, together with Chris from K.R.A.K.E., cleared litter from "das Veedel" around the zoo.
At the end of the half-year, a wish list was collaboratively crafted and painted.
"No shark hunting, no dead sharks, no microplastics, deeper knowledge about the deep sea, no ghost nets, and more marine conservationists," is written on the poster. These were just some of the children's wishes. The next study group with more children will follow next half-year, but "our boys" from this intake will remain very positively in our memories – outstanding young people!
