We look back on 2021 with one foot still in one pandemic wave and the other already in the next. The nightmare is not expected to end so quickly, even though we all hoped it would.
Encouragingly, there were some very pleasant surprises for ElasmOcean in 2021. This year draws to a close, and as an association, we look back on it with complete positivity. The development work in 2020, our first year after founding, has borne fruit and enabled us to implement outstanding projects in 2021 despite several restrictions—first and foremost our work with children and our funding of scientific research.
Looking ahead to 2022, several plans are already underway. Some dates have already been finalised and will hopefully be able to take place. Our scientific project work and lectures remain the core focus, but the Children's Ocean Days will not be neglected either.
The prerequisite was, is, and remains: our strong team and our supporters. We would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for this!
We look forward to working with you, to your enthusiasm and your joy in making this world and its oceans a better place.
