The Sporttaucher Breisach invited us to the High Black Forest to celebrate their 40th anniversary. We gladly accepted the invitation, already anticipating that it would be a "packed day with a bonus":
Friday morning was dedicated entirely to the local schools. At eight o'clock sharp, 340 pupils from the neighbouring Gymnasium surprised us and filled the Breisach municipal hall. The mayor also attended. After 90 minutes, the conclusion was clear: marine conservation is human conservation. It can only succeed with consideration for future generations.
This was followed by two further school lectures for the Gemeinschaftsschule and the Hauptschule Breisach.
Three schools, three lectures, over 450 pupils in the morning - the subsequent breathing space for our two lecturers, Rike and Steffi, was necessary before the major ElasmOcean lecture on marine conservation for adults concluded the Friday evening, completing the triple-header.
On Saturday, the second bonus followed: together with the entire Sporttauchclub, various evening guests, and freediver and world record holder Nik Linder, we held a workshop on "Diving with Sharks" for the club's anniversary and introduced our association in more detail. Nik Linder then took over, sharing insights from his career as a freediver (having, for example, dived all the way around Lake Constance two years ago). In his engaging and informative manner, he demonstrated freediving techniques and his relaxation concept, Relaqua.
