The organisation's goals

to conserve biological diversity, especially in the oceans; to protect, re-establish, safeguard, maintain and improve the ecological balance of the seas in all its components, and to stop the destruction and deterioration of the seas and their inhabitants, especially sharks;

to counteract all activities that affect the survival of species now or in the future;

to promote the adoption of the principles of sustainable and environmentally sound practice in the private and public consciousness;

and to work towards ensuring that the environment and biodiversity are taken seriously.
